Most of my readers aren’t interested in digesting the “techy” details on the new iPhones announced today. For the iPhone user that is more interested in the user experience than the technology here are a few thoughts:
The new iPhone 6 has a larger 4.7 inch screen than the iPhone 5s which has a 4 inch screen. This is a much needed update since the iPhone seems a little small compared to it’s modern Android equivalents. Still need more screen real estate? You may consider the iPhone 6 Plus with a 5.5 inch screen. Need even more? Consider an iPad Mini.
The new iPhones are more efficient with power this means longer battery life. The camera is very similar to the camera found on the iPhone 5s. However, there is a uptick in performance when it comes to recording videos.
A new payment service called Apple Pay will be available with the next iOS version. Within a year, expect to see a lot of vendors accepting payments just by tapping your iPhone on an equipped card reader. Expect Apple Pay within several apps even sooner.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can be preordered starting September 12 and becomes available on September 19.
